Well we had every kind of weather (bar snow) for our summer judging session on Wednesday 7th July. We drove most of the route due to the torential rain, but this did not hamper things, if anything we were able to show more of the village off! Results are out in September so fingers crossed for a good outcome.

Our first visit from the judges - Sue Wood and Jane McCaulay took place on Thursday 15th April. We had a good walk around the village and showed them lots of features including Burnmoor Crescent, the park, swimming pool, village centre, millenium gardens and the community centre. As the summer session lasts a lot longer we should be able to cram in a lot more!

We had a good day out around Ingleton today showing the judges - Peter Oddy and Stuart Elwin more of the village. We first visited Ingleton Middle School and presented the book token prizes to the winners of our design a logo competition. The winners were; 1st Charlotte Taylor, 2nd Charlie Percival, 3rd Molly Beresford and 4th Georginga Brown. These logos can be viewed on our Ingleton in bloom website, and the winning design will endorse everything we do from now on. We toured the village before heading up to the Station Inn at Ribblehead where we met Colin Newlands The Senior Reserve Manager who very kindly took us for a tour of Scar Close, a fantastic National Nature Reserve. Both judges agreed they would like to make return visits and spend some time on the reserve having a more detailed look around. We ended the day with a much appreciated brew at the Station Inn, thanks to Jo and Alan for their hospitality. Hopefully next year we can encourage them to put the pub in to the competition too.

The judges will be returning very soon now to look at our villages summer display. We shall be visiting the middle school to present the prizes following the poster competition we ran where the children have created some superb logos for our group. The winning poster will be used throughout our efforts now, it will be our branding!
Be ready! Tuesday 14th July - lets bloom our socks off. Thursday, June 25
